In August 1992, once tourism had been incorporated in Portugal, there was a need to establish a clear identity for Portugal as a tourist destination. Jose de Guimaraes, one of the most acclaimed artists in Portugal, was asked to design a symbol representing tourism of Portugal. This animation portrays the artist's journey throughout the creation of the symbol which represents Portugal worldwide.
